I'm not entirely sure what to write on this thing. Like I said before, it's probably more for me to be able to write things out, make some kinda sense. But anything personal I want to express, I can't - it's too public a place...the irony. Like bronzy and steely, only made out of iron (please don't sue me, Mr Curtis and Mr Elton!)

Song of the week: Elton John's The One. I'll explain the background to this song, which I'm listening to as I write. At the Berlioz Bar at the Burlington, they have a CD or two on repeat, which can be a bit tedious but they're good albums so it's not too bad! Anyhoo one of the songs is The One, which I instantly recognized as being Elton (he has a distinctive sound and voice). Typed the lyrics into Google and hey Presto! Found I have it anyway. Excellent - no need to ask Geth to download it for me!

I can see why some may say Elton's more recent albums (Songs From The West Coast and Peachtree Road - although I haven't heard The Captain and The Kid, the most recent, yet) are perhaps not as memorable as earlier material, but there are still good songs on them I thoroughly enjoy. Anyway, as an earlier song, The One has some great lyrics that really jump out and grab me by the collar, make me clench my fists and LISTEN: "And all I've ever needed was the One...You're all I've ever needed. Baby you're the One". Sounds simple, but they're accompanied by some powerful music. Do yourselves a favour today and find it!

House party was on Saturday night, and I was actually a little surprised at the number that came considering some were given quite late notice. And I believe fun was had by all! Need to go to/host more house parties! Have been feeling somewhat like an old man recently and need to reclaim my lost inner student!! Haha, yes I AM in denial about not being a student anymore, I know!

Work later. Joy. My mate there who I was talking about before, who didn't intend on staying long, has found himself something else - good luck to him! He's gonna be working at New Street Station - not glam but he's from New Zealand (can't remember which island) so is just looking for something to keep him going in the period before he heads back.
