New Brum adventures
Hey all,
Am now back in Brum and back to the joys of work. I gotta say, the hotel is a lot quieter these days and I'm only there 3 nights a week now (Mon, Weds, Fri), with Tues and Thurs afternoons/evenings at the Rep, and so I've managed to reclaim some social life! Woo! Rox, Helena and I went exploring in the centre of town the other week, and found a couple of new bars near the Hippodrome Theatre. Want to explore what we can of Birmingham before we all go our separate ways come July...feel like we've barely seen half of what this great place has to offer.
Speaking of the Hippodrome, I went and saw Cinderella there on Saturday, and had a really good time. Mate Adam works there as an usher, doing basically what I do at the Rep, and he convinced me to go along. Glad I did. I wouldn't normally watch Brian Conley on any crappy Saturday night TV show, but I was pleasantly surprised to be shown that he is a great entertainer for adults AND kids. Fun stuff.
Have got tickets for Ricky Gervais' new show for when he comes to the NIA Academy in March! Very excited about that; I have a lot of time for him. I love The Office, Extras and his live stuff, and my parents' birthdays are either side of the show so it'll be nice to have a family night out. (Also, I thought his and Steve Coogan's cameo appearances in Night At The Museum were very funny and well-acted!)
I went swimming yesterday! Get me! Am also enjoying my MP3 player, listen to it a lot, when walking to work, or on the trains etc. Listen to Badly Drawn Boy's Something To Talk About (from the About A Boy soundtrack I believe) if you need something new...and if you've never seen an episode of Black Books, do so! You don't know what you're missing!
Take care,
j
